Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Iain Bruce, an individual developer ("we", "us"), who runs Game Day Board: the website and the Android and iPhone apps for planning a youth sports team's lineups. They are written in plain language. By signing in or using Game Day Board you agree to them. How we handle personal information is in our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use it
Game Day Board is for adults: coaches and team administrators, and parents or guardians following a team. You must be 18 or over, and able to sign in with a Google or Apple account that has a verified email address. Children do not have accounts. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in to yourself.
2. What coaches are responsible for
A coach enters information about a team, including children's names and shirt numbers, and decides who can see it. If you are a coach, you are responsible for:
- having the right to enter that information, and the permission you need from the team's organisation and from parents or guardians where that is required;
- sharing a game's link with parents only when you are happy for them to see it: anyone who has the link can open it without signing in, and it shows players by first name and last initial;
- who you invite as an assistant coach or let in as a parent, and removing people who should no longer have access;
- what you ask an AI app you connect to do with your team's information, as described in the Privacy Policy.
For the information you enter about players, you decide what is entered and why; we store and show it only to provide the service, as you direct and as the Privacy Policy describes, and we do not use it for anything of our own.
3. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Game Day Board to harass, threaten or embarrass anyone, or to share anything unlawful;
- enter information about people you have no reason to hold, or use what you see about other people's children for anything other than following the team;
- try to get into another team's information, or to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
- use automated means to sign up, guess team codes, or collect information from the service, apart from the AI-app connection we provide.
We may limit or remove access that breaks these rules or puts others at risk.
4. Your information and ours
What you enter stays yours. You allow us to store and show it to the people you choose (your team's coaches, the parents you let in, the AI apps you connect), because that is what the service does. The Game Day Board name, design and software belong to Iain Bruce. We give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the website and the apps for their intended purpose, for as long as these terms allow. The apps and website include open-source software, whose licences are on our open-source notices page. Please send feedback freely; we may use it to improve the service without owing anything for it.
5. The iPhone and Android apps
iPhone. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your licence to use the iPhone app. These terms apply as well, to your use of the service; if they conflict about the licence to the app itself, Apple's standard terms win. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, its maintenance or support, or any claim about it, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of Apple's standard terms. If you have a question or a complaint about the app, contact us.
Android. Google Play's terms apply to getting the app from Google Play. Google is not responsible for the app or its support.
6. No warranty, and our responsibility
Game Day Board is free and is provided as it is. We work to keep it correct and available, but we cannot promise it will always work, be error-free, or be there on match day. Check a lineup before a game, and keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Game Day Board is a planning aid: how a match is run, and the safety of the children playing, are for the people running it.
Subject to the next paragraph, we are not responsible for loss that was not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these terms, nor for loss of data, profit or opportunity, or for losses that come from using, or being unable to use, a free service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any legal rights you have as a consumer.
7. Changes, and ending the service
We may change Game Day Board, add or remove features, or change these terms. When a change to the terms matters, we will post it here with a new date, and carrying on using the service means you accept it; if you do not accept it, you can stop and delete your account. We may also suspend or end the service; if we end it for everyone, we will say so beforehand where we reasonably can, so that you can keep what you need.
8. Ending your use
You can stop at any time. Open the menu (☰) and choose Delete account; what it removes is described in the Privacy Policy. A head coach whose team still has other coaches needs to remove them, or hand the team on, first.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put other people at risk, and where we reasonably can we will tell you why first. When your access ends, your right to use the service ends and your information is dealt with as the Privacy Policy says. The parts of these terms that by their nature should carry on (such as sections 4, 6 and 10) do.
9. Law
The law of the place where you live applies to these terms and to any dispute about them or the service, and you may bring a dispute in the courts there. Nothing in these terms takes away protection that the law of your country gives you as a consumer.
10. The rest
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Game Day Board. If a part of them is found not to work, the rest still does. If we do not insist on something straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else.
